Who is Catherine Bloom?
Catherine is a character from the popular anime series Gundam Wing. She is most known as the female counterpart to Trowa Barton, pilot of Gundam Heavyarms.
We first meet "Cathy" at a circus, where Trowa applies for work as a disguise for his "activities" while fighting in his Gundam Heavyarms. She is a knife thrower and (in Endless Waltz) trapeze artist, so it's no wonder the acrobatic Trowa becomes her performance partner. From there, we mainly see her in almost all scenes concerning Trowa, acting as friend and somewhat "sisterly" towards the stoic young man.
Catherine can be described as lively, caring, and one of the prettier women in Gundam Wing. She speaks her mind, isn't afraid to stand up to/for others, and takes matters into her own hands when needs be.
Why make a fanlisting?
I personally find Catherine to be an independent and headstrong woman. She isn't afraid to get into a confrontation. Just look at how she rushes in during Trowa's self-destruct attempt (thanks, Heero ^^) after the circus performance turned battle royale at the Oz base.
She jumped right into the Gundam's cockpit and *BAM* nailed one right on his jaw! Then, she goes off on him about how he's throwing his life away and not thinking about the people he'd leave behind, crying all the while, but still sounding righteous and strong.
The girl's got guts! Standing up to a Gundam pilot like that, in the middle of a battle too! And, if that ain't enough, afterwards, she tells Heero Yuy she doesn't like him or his influence on Trowa, to his face!
C'mon, people, these are some dangerous things she's doing, but she isn't afraid to follow her feelings and do what she thinks is right.
Which is why I admire her...plus, she can throw knives! How cool is that? =D
